(née CRACKNELL).
1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Parsonage Farm, Kirtling, with his father John CORNWELL [32] a horseman on farm, born Barnardiston; his mother Rose [30] born Finchingfield, sisters Edith [11] born Kedington, Florence [7] born Barnardiston and Minnie [11 months] born Kirtling and brother Percy [4] born in Barnardiston. 1911 census...Aged 19, a horseman on farm, he was at Chalk Pit Farm, Brinkley with his parents (father now a farm bailiff), brother Percy ( a shepherd), sister Minnie and brother Bertie [2] born in Brinkley. |

Enlisted in Cambridge. Only CWGC have his name as CORNWALL The whereabouts of the 11th Suffolks the day he was killed is rather vague. They had previously successfully taken Malakoff Farm and during July-September, in no specific actions, had incurred over 200 casualties in the Peronne area. They had 7 killed on the 13th, all buried in Jeancourt. |
